The Concorde Story
To help us narrate a planned exhibition, and capture a unique chapter in world aviation history, we are reaching out to people who were directly involved with Concorde to gather some great stories, both in written and video format. These stories can positively inspire young people to develop the necessary quantum-leap innovations our world will need in the future.
Concorde’s success was down to the effort of many thousands of people who bought the aircraft to life. Ultimately, Concorde is a story about international partnership and the collective ability of people to overcome all known barriers and challenges.
Thoughts and memories of those behind its early design, testing and development periods in the 1960s and 1970s are of key interest along with those from companies who were suppliers to the Concorde programme. We would also like to hear from Concorde pilots, crew, passengers, fans and the general public. Concorde also caused controversy throughout its life so we would also like to hear from both sides of the supersonic story.
These stories will help us preserve some special Concorde anecdotes and secrets before the memories are lost. As Concorde was built several decades ago, it is vital to capture untold stories for heritage reasons before a generation pass.
We look forward to hearing your Concorde stories and welcoming you to a planned exhibition which will coincide with the 10 year anniversary of Concorde’s final flight into Bristol, England, in 2003.
Thank you in advance for your contributions. They will help to bring the exhibition to life and create a lasting legacy for others to enjoy for years to come.
